The Japanese Association of Art Education (JAAEd

Date: 22 March, 11:50 AM – 12:50 PM
Location: Lecture Room 5206, 2nd Floor, Lecture Building, Faculty of Education, Okayama University

How can video games and digital tools transform museum education?
How can we better engage students through digital collections?

This workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on the creative potential of digital technologies in art museum education. Together, participants explored how digital strategies can support more dynamic, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.

Led by Susana Vargas-Mejía at the Japanese Association of Art Education (JAAEd), the session highlighted the residencies programme developed at the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art (MAMBO). Susana shared insights from last year’s edition and introduced a LAN party held during the workshop as a way to reflect on our relationship with video games as exhibition formats. This activity was based on the project by Sebastián Mira, developed as part of their Digital Residency at MAMBO.
